Nothing huge, I couldnt get the other tinfoil, or the plec, and I didnt bother with the 2 other balas as they are small. I have 14 fish total

All the tins are about the same size, the 2 other balas are 1-1.5" smaller than the biggest and the pleco is toping over 10"

Orange oranda, got him a few months ago, already double in his size
White Oranda I beleive I got him a month before the orange, doubled aswell
The calico is actually 2-3 years old. Seems to be a slow grower and grows in spurts. His/her last spurt was probably 4-5 months ago

Iv had these guys since beginning of november @ 2.5" and 1.5" they grow well

2 outta 3, Im thinking maybe 2 years old, there growth has taken off the past 6 months

The white gold fish is somewhere around 5-6 years old. He spent 2-3 years in a 2 gallon hex. My sister won him at a carnival and lived his life in there. I took him in about 2 years ago and looks to be growing just very slowly so there is hope left. Comet is 2-3 years old really taken off in growth the past 6 months
Thats my biggest bala, I got them at the end of april 07. He has double his size, the others havent really grown to much.

Im hoping in 6 months they will grow some more, I know the cats will for sure

Why did you take all of your fish out of the tank and put them onto a towel to measure them? They are all still alive, yes?

I was wondering the same thing. I've taken pics of inverts in shallow water but never taken something out of water just to photograph it.

Ya they are all alive, there all looking at me for food. I took them out because I wanted to measure them, and a bucket was no where to be found.

No pix of them in the tank, they dont sit still so you just see fish blurs. Heres a 3week vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kADXAoxWfPQ

Its a 55gal. Ya its crowded, they get 3 massive water changes a week and are happy. Plans are back firing left and right so there inflatable pool is on a big hold. I got other plans to build them a temporary 48x48x24 house which gives them way more space to swim. I just gotta see what the beginning of january brings me before I can decide.

Just an idea, I've never actually tried it, so I have no idea how well it would work, but perhaps you could move them into a tank-water-filled 2 liter ziploc container and get a rough measure from there? Or, you could print off an alternating black and white grid, each bar 1/4" in width, and tape that to the middle of the tank. As a fish swims by it, snap a quick picture of 'em, and count the number of bars in the picture later on. Heck, if you print off the same grid, and place it under the ziploc container, just take a top-down picture, and you can calculate the size of the fish, regardless of the angle they're at. Just a few ideas to perhaps help minimize stress for the fish when measuring them. :) Good luck with your pond project. I bet they will love the open space. :D
