I bought a blue gorgonia a couple months ago and its doing great except when i got it there were a few "burnt" tips that never grew back and now over time those tips have collected some algae and other gunk that is a pain to clean and looks ugly. my question is do you think it would be ok to cut off the burnt tips or would that be harmful to it? thanks.

Cut off the affected areas.
Keep us posted as these corals almost always die in captivity.
Here is a pic of mine that is 3 months old(captive)

I've had to force myself to walk by a beautiful specimen a few times at a local store.

yours looks good. my yellow one died 6 months back or so but ive since read about them needing lots of flow and mine does good under good light and being right in front of the power head. heres a pic of mine a couple days ago, i just cut off the burt ends but it hasn't fully opened up yet today so i didn't take a new pic yet....

Heres an updated pic, ive gotten most of the nasty stuff removed and its looking alot cleaner. my long nosed hawk always posts up on it too if hes not resting on his favorite rock.
