Learn to clean bathrooms.

1) Your girlfriend, wife, Significant Other will love you for volunteering to clean it.
2) It's really not that hard, but sounds yucky so most people don't like to
3) It gets you out of the way while your wife, gf, SO cleans the rest of the house. (This is a really good thing... trust me)
4) Go to Lowe's and buy the industrial strength cleaners. Avoid anything with a pretty bottle. You want the money spent on solvents, not paint for the can.
5) Using the aforementioned cleaners, you need a roll of paper towels and about 10 minutes... milk it for about three hours. No one will complain as long as the bathroom sparkles.
6) Don't clean unless it is really gross or company is coming over. This ensures you have a job... that you want.

If you run out of bathroom cleaning... vacuuming is very painless as well and can be fun if you get to pick out the vacuum cleaner. They make some really kick *ss ones now. Have fun.

And I thought I was the only one.

It's probably best to keep this information away from the women folk out there. I'd hate for the misses to discover how I ride the chore clock.

Is there a smiley with a whip?

Was your wife looking over your shoulder when you typed this?

Did you lose a bet?

I'm not doing any housework. I got married so I wouldn't have to do any.

My wife doesn't do any of the outdoor chores, thats why she got married.

If my wife mows the lawn, trims bushes, takes care of the dogs, works on the car etc I might be inclined to do some in home cleaning, until then :silly:

I generally find if you do anything related to cleaning of your own volition they tend to be impressed...

In our house, you clean up after yourself. Anything left over is for everyone. Why? Because Hubby and I both work more than full-time and have three teenagers. If it isn't clean to our expectations, dinner is not made or served until everyone pitches in. And no you cannot make a peanut butter sandwich - the kitchen is off limits until it is done.

Same goes for the outside.

If one of us asks, the others do. Why? We pay the bills.

If we all pitch in, it gets done quickly and efficiently. No one feels like they have been overworked or used.

For the record, I'd rather clean the bathrooms in Walmart than do yard work.

My hubby cleans his own bathroom. We pay more for a 2/2 so we don;t have to share. :) The rule is that he can't come to bed unless he is clean (same for me) and that you can't get clean in a dirty, icky space. lol. The houseowrk is split, because we both work full time. If one of us has to put in a night, the other makes dinner. The second I don;t have to work, I will do all of the cooking, cleaning and shopping. Until then, sharing is caring! ~brandy

For the record, I'd rather clean the bathrooms in Walmart than do yard work.

Now see thats where we are different.. I'd much rather spend time outside working in the garden, mowing, in the garage tinkering, shoveling anything but cleaning a toilet..

I do the vacuming though and get away with that as most of the house work.. But I do the cooking, grocery shopping as well.. But she does the dishes.. But then she doesn't shovel at all or mow yard etc.

Yeah, but do you get any when you do the chores? ;)

If that what it takes to get some then you've got no game.

I wouldn't quite go that far, but I understand where you're coming from. Yard work sucks. The only gardens I care to tend to are my planted aquariums and maybe a few houseplants.

I think this is great advice.

I have had bathroom duty most of the time I have been married.

Doing this one chore has given me a pass on most of the rest. I do it on Sunday and make a day of it.

Another great one is to volunteer to unload the dishwasher. I might even load it from time to time.

For some reason, my wife HATES to clean the bathroom; and when she does, it's usually a cursory cleaning. She'd rather clean the whole house than the bathrooms; and I get to do 'em.

So...for me, the OP's premise applies 100%

Now, ME, I'd rather do ANYTHING other than rake leaves (including cleaning bathrooms or even hard labor!)...so she does help me with the raking... :)
Often she does at least half the work; and a couple times when I was out of town, she did ALL the leaves!

It all evens out!

Well, guess things are different here in G land. Actually my hubby does most the house work. I use to but hey, I work more hours now then he does so we kinda switched roles...

Washing dishes and folding laundry......the most painful chores of my bachelor hood. Now that I have a live-in g/f......those chores are a thing of the past! Woohoo.

I love to cook, she hates to cook.....it works out sweet.

I'm never home.. like, EVER.. and i might sleep at my own house 2-3 nights out of a week.. so, my bathroom RARELY gets used.

I cleaned it well over 2 months ago and i'd still eat off that floor.

I keep it clean on a daily basis so it rarely needs a major cleaning . Once in a while I hit it with scrubbing bubbles.
People say my place is to clean and tidy, I say "what ?" do you like living in filth ?:headshake2:

Don't waste you money on a bunch of household cleaners, just buy one jug of bleach for the bathrooms and kitchen. I'll sweep the floors then spray everything down with bleach/water and walk away. Done.
