They will quote at least $350 and they may try to hit you with an extra charge for "special order". After that, you will still need a heater, filter, sand or gravel, etc.

I recently bought a 150G tank, stand, 2x Eheim 2217 canisters, Ebo-Jaeger heaters, lighting, supplies, decorations, powerhead, etc. for $350. The Eheims are $150 each by themselves online, more in a pet store. I think used is definitely the way to go.

Best retail price I ever saw on a 125 was $299.00. I've never seen them lower than that...
Now... To me, for a new tank of that size, that price is ok.....Vs what i've seen many used tanks go for.
If it's just a standard tank, call around your LFS (not petsmart) for what an AGA 125 would cost, if they ordered it. If they are an AGA distributor, you don't pay shipping, although you might have to wait 1-2 weeks for their normal truck schedule.
I found this method to be surprisingly close to glasscages prices, no shipping, and much cheaper than any petsmart/petco quotes or what any LFS had in stock. Although shops varied widely in quotes for the same AGA standard tank, so call a few.

craigslist is the best place on earth.
i bought this for $300
125 with all lighting, filtration, heating, stand, and glass tops.
Only thing not included was the substrate and rocks. which the sand was $13 and the rocks were free from the creek behind my house

Craigslist you'll get accesories which is nice. Look in your local classifieds also.

Throw a solid background on it, and your fish will "pop" :). Nice rock layout.
