I just got a Red Sea CO2 Pro System for Xmas and can't keep it working. It will run fine for a day and then after it shuts down overnight it appears to have lost all pressure in the cylinder as if there is a leak. I don't hear a leak and think everything is setup correctly....need help... Anyone else ever had this problem?

I'd love to see pictures of a correct "in-line" solenoid valve setup with the paintball cylinder to verify that my setup isn't the problem. Is it true that some of the cylinders just have problems with leaking?

Does it regain pressure the next day?

No, the tank is empty. It ran fine for a day, then the next morning after being shut off by the same timer operating the lights the tank was empty. Same thing happened two consecutive days.

I have had it refilled once and want more input from others before I drive across town to refill again...I'm thinking someone may have had similar problems and can tell me how to prevent this or if there is a history of bad cylinders.

Are the gages reading approx where they should be?

How many bubbles per second? If your trying 1 per every 4 or 5 seconds the needle valve might not be good enough quality.Increase to 1 per second.

To check the tank close the valve, take the regulater off go outside and open the valve. You should get a BIG hiss off the CO2 gas coming out.

You may also try using soapy water on your connections to see if your loosing gas from one of the fittings. My guess would be leaky needle valve.

On second thought you would hear a big hiss without any connected even if the tank was very low.Highly unlikely it would be totally empty.(note can`t edit the post)

If you take the tank and do not hear a fairely large whoofhe, then it is leakib]ng out, and that is easiest to check.

refill the tank and hold it underwater (bathtub works well) and make sure its the tank leaking

Thanks for all of the suggestions...the gauges are reading zero, so the tank is definitely empty in less than one day. No hissing from the needle valve either, so I'm lead to believe I've got a definite leak.

Any

Any of you have pics of the solenoid directly connected to the Pressure Regulator with the Red Sea system?

Thanks for all of the suggestions so far!

No. You obviously have a leak somewhere. You wouldn't hear it. Check every connection. Make sure it is tight. Spray everything with soapy water, then look for the bubbles.

The solenoid shuts off the C02 when the solenoid is not getting power, but even if you disabled the solenoid and let the C02 run 24/7, it would still last a month, not a day!

Thanks for all of the help everyone...definitely found the leak. Red Sea instructions are nearly worthless. The solenoid valve was the source of the leak, which I could hear after everyone explained what it should sound like.

My tank is now working at 1 bps like it should be and shutting off at night. Thanks again for the help...glad I joined the site and got exposed to all of the information!
