I have a 10 gallon with one geophagus brasiliensis. It is a fry, maybe 1.25" TL. Filtration is a sponge filter and an AC70. So it is kind of boring to look at, so i'm looking for a pair of cichlids to join my lone Geo. I was thinking maybe a pair of GBR, or, Bolivian Rams.

Right now, all that is in there is a piece of Malyasian driftwood, I am going to add sand, fake plants, and possibly a flower pot, along with maybe a few small (1.5") clown loaches, or corys.

What do you guys think? Any suggestions?

Oh yea. The 10 is a grow out, I have another 29, and 75 and another tank on the way, so when the CL and geo out grow the 10, they'll have a new house. =]

I would stop adding after the pair of rams :) Maybe some nicer snails to clean the place up a bit....

Yea I wasn't planning on adding both, just an either-or situation. Thanks for your oppinion, 'spizz.

i wouldnt add anything. the geo is going to outgrow the tank, and as a fry it needs pristene water conditions. competition from adult fish may not allow it to grow as fast as if it were by itself.

I do twice weekly waterchanges. I am aware then the geo will outgrow the tank. I have a 29 and a 75 waiting as growouts. Just wanted to say that. :)

fry should get several feedings per day usually 3-4 ..this means you should clean the tank of uneaten food daily.

so small water changes daily if you want to keep the geo as healthy as possible.

(I believe this is what jm may be referring to)
