I have a 25 gal FW tank that I want to convert to salt. Now I know nothing about salt water setups. What is the basic equipment I need and where can I get detailed info on how to setup a salt tank.
Thanks

there is a book, I forget the name of it that everyone should read
also, equipment
bakpak skimmer
20-30 pounds of live rock
30-40 pounds of sand
0 pounds of crushed coral
lighting depends on whether or not you want just fish or if you want reef
powerheads for movement
don't get a canister filter
basically, keep your heater from your old tank
I guess if you have a power filter, you could use that for water movement if you take the media out and just want a fish tank...
it all depends on what you plan to keep in the tank, that is the first step

there is a book, I forget the name of it that everyone should read Your brain sounds a lot like mine. I think the one you refer too is the Conscientious Marine Aquarist, by Bob Fenner. John Tullock's Natiral Reef Aquariums is also excellent, even for fish-only setups. Bob Fenner also has a site (http://www.wetwebmedia.com) that is packed with good information. If you are thinkig about a reef, Reef Central (http://reefcentral.com) has some excellent stickies in their newbie forum.
My advice is to read CMA and surf some sites, and then decide what kind of tank suits your interests and pocketbook. Then start collecting equipment.
