i`ve had some xenia in my tank for 3 months now its doubled in size & growing like mad by the day covered a big area in the time of 3months which was good.

Until i did something very stupid on the 31st 2days ago i was moving live rock to make more room for some new corals in the future anyway i moved a bit of live rock off the sand bed & a big cloud of crap seemed to appear from under the rock then my tank was all cloudy so i stopped & let the water clear all corals shrimps fish are fine but they was not my concern as i know xenia loves needs perfect water & as i thought the xenia was affected

it was a light brown colour & all floppy looking not pulsing so i did a water change water back all perfect again but the xenia did not change until yesterday where a few arms stretched & a few pulsed & today more is pulsing & stretching & going back to its normal colour but none of it is as good/stretched/white as before will it all recover in time if so how long will xenia take to kick back?

I've never read that xenia loves perfect water, in fact I've heard quite the opposite. I think the change might have effected it yes but it should perk up soon.

I agree Grins, xenia usually does better in a nutrien rich system in fact I know a few people that use it in there fuge for that reason

Xenia does not prefer pristine water, dont get me wrong you do need good water quality with good parameters but certainly not pristine. If the xenia was growing well before give it a few days and I am sure it will be ok.
I have Bali xenia and cespitularia which are supposedly more sensitive to less than pristine conditions and my are thriving.
Best of luck.

yep should be just fine! and if you find it grows to fast on your LR might i just say it makes a great addition to the glass! i found mine grew WAY too fast on the rock so i moved it to the glass and i couldn't be happier :)
