I want to attempt to build anaquarium. If anyone has done this, or has any recomendations, input is always welcome. Here is a list of the first questions I can think of.

1) where do I find acrylic.

2) what thickness (of course I realize this would depend on size of aquarium. I want to build one about 8-10' long, and 2' high.

3) I have access to a cabinet shop. Can you use wood cutting blades to safely cut acrylic?

Oh and something to keep in mind, the thicker the acrylic you use, the smaller the top brace needs to be.

Get a 40 tooth carbide blade to cut the acrylic. It will save alot of problems. Remember to feed it through very slowly, otherwise it melts the acrylic instead of cutting it.
