What happens to the poor danios?

Everytime I see people doing fishy cycling they say they use Danios cause they are hardy. But everybody can't possibly want danios in their tank. So what happens to all of these poor danios? Do they get killed, sent back or die during the cycling?

I've seen how great danios can be in a large tank, but in small tanks they just don't do too much.

I kept mine, but i dotn remember or not if i cycled with them. This was my first 1 gallon tank.

I used 4 Giant Danio's to cycle with....there doing great and will stay in the tank!.....those are the crack addicts of the fish world...they never stop moving!

It's too bad that more people don't try to fishless cycle...It's really not that difficult. :(
