ok so I'm pickin up the 55 tomorrow. This is my question. I'm not sure how to go about switching over.I have around 30# of live rock and 25# of dry lace rock,20# of live sand and maybe another 25 or 30 lbs of dry sand. I will be using the same skimmer, lights etc.. along with my fuge.do I need to cycle the tank??how do I clean the lace rock?I've had my 20L up for over a year and its been ok except for a little turf algae.I dont know what to do.

I would try to do a couple of 10 gallon WC's over the next week and add that to the 55, get all the sand that is not in the 20 in there and clean off the lace rock just rinse it real good and put that in then add another 10 gallons of fresh SW and get some PH's going in the 55. I would let it sit for about a week before you move things over from the 20 except maybe move about 10-15 lbs of the LR over to help it get going. You will probably have a mini cycle but just keep a close eye on it.
