Aloha from Hawaii!
Does anyone keep swordtails? I was just wondering what are a good way to keep the fry... I have them separated from their parents in a little tank with a little air pump for now. I hope to have a pond up before the end of August and hope to throw some in there. Any special tips about keeping swordtail fry?

With live bearer fry, I generally use the baby cichlid pellets. I grind them up to make them minisucle. I put them in the water and mix it around so that the food moves and sinks. The babies go after it when it moves.:)

Livebearer fry love hiding in floating plants, If you can find Hornwort, It is a very nice floating plant and very hearty. The fry will nip at it and eat the micro organisims living on it.
As for food, i grind up regular tropical flake with a vegie flake and my fry are doing fantastic.

Alright, I have the PERFECT site for you, it is a bit long but it is the most comprehensive guide to swordtail keeping with a little bit of mathematical formulas thrown in.
