Hi all.....I've been lurking for awhile now. Lot's of great info here. Figured I would start a thread dedicated to my 50G I set up 2 weeks ago. I've got a lot to learn about the hobby now that I decided to try a planted tank. I've kept African Cichlids and Oscars in the past. Looking to house Rams in this tank. Well here is a picture of it so far.....:dive2:

Nicely done, clean and sharp.
The live plants really make that tank, low tech?

Keep us posted on the rams, they should really stand out against that background.

Nice start. What are the tank dimensions? It looks like a nice deep tank which is great for aquascaping.

Thanks everyone.

To answer the questions, Yes it is low tech. I have been looking at a CO2 system but haven't pulled the trigger yet. I feel I have some more learning to do before I jump head long into CO2.

The first inhabitants that I added yesterday are 4 Glowlight Tetras. I would also like to get some of the Rummy Nose, or Bleeding Hearts. I was going to buy some Bleeding Hearts instead of the Glowlights, but a couple in that tank had a nasty looking white fungus growing on their fins.

The tank is an Oceanic 50g it is 30.5X18.5X20 something. It is fairly deep the swords on the left are at the mid point to give you some prespective.

I'm going to get some more low light, hard to kill plants to sharpen my teeth on.

Thanks again for the comments, any and all suggestions are welcomed!

Very nice start!
