I just upgraded to a 125gal tank and now have a little room to add more fish. I was planning on going in and picking up some sub's and long finned comets this next weekend so I set up my 15 gal quarantine tank yesterday. I don't have any room for it in the house so I set it up in the garage and was planning on buying a heater for it today (it's holding about 65 degrees out there).

This morning murphy strikes. One of my favorite long finned comets who is normally attacking my hand when I feed him was sluggish. I was immediately concerned and took a closer look at him. Its a bacterial flesh infection near his dorsal fin. I've had this fish for 4 years now and it has never had a disease. As soon as I set up the quarantine tank though.. bamm!!! Murphy strikes.

Dangit, off the the pet store because of course I can't find my malachite green and I'm out of antibiotic feed.

Mostly healed up with just a few scales missing, out of quarantine, and chasing the female who's decided to plump up in the new tank. He got a little constipated after all of the antibiotics but nothing a little elodea and lettuce couldn't tank care of. (he spits peas out)

Quarantine taank now contains 2 sub's, 1 long fin comet, one funky looking comet (he's got a black mohawk that looks like it might stay), and 4 white clouds. After a precautionary tretment of salt, malachite green, and antibiotics they are all disease free and begging for food everytime they see me.

Sounds like you caught it just in time. Glad all is well!
