12 gallon tank w/ 70w MH
Current CUC: 1 emerald crab, 2 scarlet hermits, 5 nerite snails, 4 cerith snails.
I am currently doing about a 1/3 water change every week. Since the tank cycled about two weeks ago.
There seems to be three primary types: a hair algae, a leafy algae, and what looks kind of like brown fern leaves.. What should I do to tackle this stuff? Thank you!!

Pic 1 - Not sure, some kind of macro fauna..
Pic 2 - Chaeto
Pic 3 - Chaeto
Pic 4 - could be taxifolia
none are anything to worry about in my opinion...

haha so I went and bought a bunch of CUC critters to fight hair algae and it is actually chaeto? nice :)
Do I need to do anything with it though? Just let it be? Will my fish eventually eat it or something? I don't see well run tanks having this growing all over the place..

pretty certain its chaeto, from what i can make out from the pics...You do get it every now and then...
One thing though, does it grow quickly in there? if it does, then there is a possibility that it could be growing due to a higher level of nutrients...which of course wont show up on tests, as the macro algae will of already consumed it, so, all you'd get is traces...
Fish will pick at it yes..See what other think they are mate..

Yes, it definitely seems that it is chaeto. Do people leave this in their display if it gets in there? or should I try to remove it?
I am having trouble ID'ing the stuff in pic 1. It is hard to get a good pic of it. I am thinking it might be Halimeda Discoidea just starting to grow though.

you could either just pull it out, or if you have algae grazing fish, let them munch on it...
I would be leaning toward a type of halmedia in pic 1, but, just cant really make it out very well..

If you don't mind the cheato then I would leave it in. Its a nice breeding ground for pods and fish love to hover and graze over it. I have some in my display also.
