Last week was a busy week for my 75 gallon tank! On Tuesday I went to the local reef store and bought 30 Nassarius snails and 5 lbs of heavily coralline encrusted LR and added them to my big tank. I got $9.00 credit for my small clownfish. I also had him order my Black Cap Basslet. Here is my acclimation process for the snails:

When I bought the 30 snails I got a bulk discount on them ($1.15). He didn't have 30 snails so he still owes me 10 snails, plus another 5 for not having all of them. That makes it even more of a discount!
Friday was a big day as well! I broke down my 25 gallon tank and added everything to my big tank. The only thing I think I lost was my Peppermint shrimp. I took the LR out first so that it was easier to grab the inverts. I couldn't fine my shrimp, so he must be inside one of my pieces of LR. Look at this way, either he or his carcus is in the 75 gallon tank. If he survived the lack of acclimation then I guess I will eventually see him.
Here's how the tank looks now:

Here's some more cool pics. My clown loves his new home. He's still a little spooked and not eating much yet, but that will change in a few days.

The rest of my snails along with my Basslet should be in on Wednesday. I'll wait a week for the basslet. I just want to make sure he survived the shipping and eats well. He supposed to get some Kaleini LR in as well. I'm going to buy a 2 or 3 lbs piece to introduce some other coralline colors into the tank. Hopefully I'll get some cool orange, red, and green coralline.
I'm going to try and start dosing calcium and alk in the next couple of weeks. I hope that will speed the coralline growth. I think I'm going to use the B-onic stuff. I also have to buy the test kits as well. Noone, online or otherwise, has the Salifert calcium test. There must be a shortage or something. Once I get the coralline well on its way, I start thinking about my first coral. I probably will add another fish at the end of August or early September. I still need to add the rest of my cleanup crew as well. I still want about 25 scarlet leg hermits, a couple of porcelain crabs and a cleaner shrimp or 2. Maybe an Emerald crab as well.
