So I noticed yesterday some long stringy stuff in my aquarium- it was sort of orange and brown, and I assumed it was some sort of algae. So I did a water change and tried to suction it up- no good- then I realized it was moving and I think it was some sort of worm but I was so freaked out I scooped it out and threw it out.
Today, I notice that an actual worm is buried in the sand against the wall of my aquarium, and shooting this stringy orange stuff out!

I can't get a decent picture (tried for 30 minutes) and have been searching for other's pictures of various kinds of worms and I can't figure it out. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Sounds pretty much like a terebellidae..or common name of speghetti worm...These are polychaete worms who spread their tentacles out above the sand to catch particles of food..Not much to worry about...
