Will otos school with other fish, specifically danios? I observed the littlest of my 3 otos attempting to school with one of my little danios last night. I don't *think* the oto was chasing the danio though the danio certainly acted like he was being chased.

It really looked like the oto was trying to school to me. Could he have been chasing the danio though? They're about the same size and I thought the oto was more likely to be picked on than to be picking on another fish! I'm hoping it was all just miscommunication, lol.

My otos kinda school with my tetras and rasboras for a while then will get tired and rest on a leaf...

My experience is that they never school or congregate with tetras or danios as their swimming motions are also completely different. Their "schooling" usually consists of hanging out together on the glass and sucking the algae off of it. When they swim around they will occasionally chase each other for fun and, on rare circumstances, another fish for a very short ride.

Thanks folks. One of these days I'm sure I'll figure out what "normal" is and not have so many stupid questions, lol.
