Ok, so i just had a post deleted because it didnt have to do with the question in the origional thread, but it did have todo with a statement in the thread. I asked what the eff "bump" was. and it and the answert got deleted. HEAVEN FORBID someone see anything on this site such as an acronym or other not known to those who dont live on the net thing ecause if you do it will get deleted unless you start a new thread about it. dont ask what hob, fowlr, or anything else is because if you do, even if someone answers it will get deleted arbitrarily by a bored moderator:wall::wall::wall::wall::headshake2::headshake2::headshake2::headshake2::headshake2:

Chill out everything is going to be ok. What will make you more mad is that this will be locked or deleted. You should have taken this up in a PM. Everyone has posts deleted, it's not a big deal. =]

I don't think, that this is the best way to get this issue resolved, ..Maybe you should pm the mod, who deleted the post?..and get a better explanation of why.

I get OT posts deleted all the time. Frankly I understand why. Although I don't wish for the site to lose it's community type feeling I can see where the off topic posts make threads become flooded with non relevant information. And well...they did give us this forum for off topic posts.

The thing is it was a question about something in the post, it was not off topic or irrelavant, but I suppose it dosent matter, I have had other threads/posts losked and deleted in the past didnt make me too happy then either......... ahhh well, just tried to learn something guess I shouldnt have :)

Never....seriously???? ;)

On a serious note, most off topic chit chat does detract the value of a thread, and you have to think about the thread op, its them who are asking for info regarding their problem, and the thread turns into something different than what he or she is after..

A online forum can have a community feeling etc etc without threads turning into off topic discussions. Near enough every forum you go to, there are specific area's to have a laugh, joke, chit chat etc, which leave's the threads to hold simply core information.

We also have to think about the people who are searching the site for information, rather than just browsing..Say i wanted to find info about a disease, i type it in the search box, and in the results there is a thread with about 8 or 10 pages..WOW, i have a potential good discussion on my problem....only to find that 6 or 7 of them pages are not even close to be relevant...

We've all had posts/threads locked or deleted, it happens, its a forum, no matter what forum you go to, your going to get it...Its all part of info continuation...maximising info, minimising clutter....

Just my thoughts of course..

Niko

The posts were deleted becuae they are a distraction in the thread and we try to keep threads on topic and organized, expecially in the classified section.

You could have made a new thread in GCC or comments bugs and suggestions asking the question. However, it is not ok to make a post such as this concerning actions taken regarding posts being deleted by AC staff, TOS clearly states this.

Thread closed.
