I'll start... Here's Pat. He is a Rainbow Lory and quite a card in a half. They are said to have the strongest feet or one of the strongest as compared to their size of all the caged birds and he sure does prove that. They are also said to have the 2nd best vocalizations of the caged birds, I forget which are first but I am willing to bet the mynah's are the winners there. He knows so many things to say and sometimes surprises me with his words. When I first got him, I didn't even realize he could talk and he is amazingly clear:
Hi Pat
Hiiiiiiii Cutie (which he says each morning when I lift the cage cover)
meow's like the cat
What're you doing??
I love you
hey buddy
nite nite (when he is ready for the cover)
PAAAAAAAT!!!
helloooooo
yeah
kissy peck as if kissing someone on the cheek
whatcha whatcha out!
hey!
that's all I can think of for now... I am sure I am missing some.

a note on the tiel..

i rescued her from a person who kept her in filthy conditions, her entire chest was covered with dried baby bird formula, she's cleaning up nicely witha bath every 3 days, but there's still some crud left in her feathers. she's about 17 weeks old now

the Finch aviary, built it with my father.

substrate needs to be changed..blah.

that is beautiful, King... you certainly have the feathered fingers as well as scaley toes.... hmmmm..... it's not supposed to sound that weird, honest! hehehe

haha!

we've had birds and fish since i was born..it would be really weird not to hear parrot screams, or filters running...

made this last night for the quaker and the tiel, added some things just now.

still need to add a tray to the bottom.

I've had birds all my life too.
The colors on your lory are amazing, Dangerdoll! I haven't dealt with Lories much, my guys are messy enough.. is he terrible, what with the liquid diet and all?
I had a cockatiel as a kid.. He was forever trying to master the same whistle. We had him for about 14 years. Looks like Ivie is a real treat!
I love your aviary! We turned my clothing closet into a canary/finch aviary when I was a teenager. Red factor canaries and zebra finches. It wasn't quite as gorgeous as yours is, though.
I was incubating eggs and hand rearing the babies, finches are really neat when they are friendly.. just as cuddly as the big guys and you can fit four on one finger :)
Nice new play gym, my birds would be jealous. They are still mad at me for taking all the plastic toys away. It all seems to be made in China and I'm afraid to let them chew on the stuff. I'm making wooden toys for them now instead.

This is Madison, she's a Blue and Gold Macaw. I got her very young, still being hand fed and unfortunately, she became ill very shortly afterwards. The vet told us it was from improper feeding, probably accidental, and that it had been festering in her lungs for awhile. Accidental or not I still wanted to kill the people who had her before me:P She nearly died, I actually slept with her sitting on my chest so I could tell when she had trouble breathing. Because of that she is VERY bonded to me.

Here she is, stealing my things. So much for supplying her with safe toys!

This is Rocky, a yellow naped amazon. I got him from a woman who couldn't keep him anymore because she was getting married. Apparently the guy hit him a few times and now he absolutely hates men. He loves the ladies though!!

This is Tyler, he's a Timneh African Grey. I moved him into my bedroom when I realized he was starting huge fights between the other birds and I can't believe just how much he has picked up since then.
He can actually communicate with you if you go slow and listen. He can also have arguments with me.. fun:P
It's really amazing, he's like a little kid. He never shuts up!

They are all sleeping now.. thank goodness:)

Wow! Everyone, nice pics!

DangerDoll, the "mynah's" really talk a lot... (trained, almost human voice)
What's surprising is that I never see them - anywhere - anymore!
What happened to 'mynah birds' down here in Florida?

Is there a ban on mynah birds??
