what is this creature?

I bought a pc of live rock a few weeks ago with some Christmas Tree worms on it.

The other day I noticed what appeared to be legs coming out of the rock!
The first thing that came to mind was a small dark brittle star might be in the rock somehow

After some poking and proding, there is no starfish..... just long dark - legs!?? They are coming out of tiny holes in the rock.

I have tried to get a picture but none are clear enought to be helpful.

Any thoughts????

Are you sure its not a bristle star?

Some mini brittle stars keep their bodies in the rock almost all of the time and just stick out their legs to catch food. I've got quite a few of them in my mushroom rocks.

I would agree on the above just being a star, keeping itself nice and hidden..wont cause any problems..
