Hey guys,
Been a while unfortunately - just very busy out in the real world.
Here's a few updates of my tank which almost one year old now. Many thanks to all who helped.
I will give you all a real giggle when I can dig out the pics of it when I started.
:D
Many thanks for all who helped and continue to do so :) as always your comments & suggestions most welcome
edit : I tweaked the lighting; looks great in real life but the effect is not as good in these pics.

Wow, the fish and tank are changing a lot Coler.
Nice to see you back.
thanks guys - I'm really enjoying the tank at the moment. It can be hard to get a nice mix of colours but I like the current stock.
tarheels - good to be back :D
the look of the tank has certainly changed - the pics, with an old old camera, don't really do it justice. In real life the black backround with plain rock aquascape really pops the fish out.
As regards the stocking, I went a bit mental a few months ago (had a crayfish in there for a very strange month) and had a couple of syno multipunctatus in there, with a few to many malawis, so I cut back (my lfs is seriously good and will take returns back for store credit if you are a regular) and brought back some that wern't thriving. But the socolofi, acei, aulonocara OB & Jacobfreiberg have been there from the get go.
The malawi/tang mix is not textbook, but works out for me at any rate. I still wouldn't necessarily reccomend it as something that will always go so well and you have to be very careful with the tangs you pick.
That leilupi is in fact accidentally female, and spawns all the time, in Ph 7.9 would you believe. I can't work out what the father is though as as none of the fry have made it past fingernail size - some mutanty hybrid lol. But I like the fact that she produces viable spawn - good sign in any tank.
:D wait til I get out those old start up pics
