plants should be able to thrive in an aquarium with proper lighting without any water movememnt, right?

i just set up a 10g and dropped a few plants and have 4 wpg. im going to get alot more plants soon. the only fish is a male betta.

if plants MUST have water movememnt then can i get by with just an aereator?

its not that i dont have money for a filter i just wanted to try something different.

after the plants fill in i think i will get 2 dwarf frogs and a few ghost shrimp

and recommendations on plant-friendly snails?

if you can get an aerator there are types of filters that work just through the air pump, that way you your betta would be happier and you could get some more fish, plus it wont smell as much.

in terms of the smell and surface stagnation.... i do own a python since i have a few tanks

thankyou for that link

maybe i will get a small box/bubble filter and drop in like 6 neons
