Is it alright to use Lava rock in Reef?

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if it's fine to use a few tiny pieces of lava rock to attach my shrooms to. They are small rocks about the size of half a golf ball. I will be using two to attach two green mushrooms on because they are very porous and it seems it would be easy for the shrooms to attach to them. I will soak them in water and put them in really hot water just in case.

I would think it would be okay. I have seen lots of people use Lava Rock in SW tanks.

Oh the title of this thread is misleading because its not a FOWLR if you have shrooms.

ohh haha sorry about that. What would it be called if its just a fowlr with shrooms?

Reef I think. Because technically you have a coral. But I may be wrong.
