Ok, kinda a noob q, but I really, really advice so I don;t end up with an expensive snack for the fishies... I have a pair of Borelli cichlids (apistos) living happily in my 20g long with briliant rasboras, harlequin rasboras and metae cories. I really want to add red cherry shrimp, but Im not sure if the Borelli's will eat them. Opinions? Thanks!!!!!! ~brandy

any fish can and try to eat them. your best bet is to set up a small shrimp farm. other then that lots of plants lots of hiding spots. like i have cherry shrimp in my 120 with angels.

If you're willing to experiment, I can't disagree. As long as you're willing to take the risk. I might suggest first testing the compatibility by adding a ghost shrimp or two just to see if they survive after a few days to a week. If so, cherrys might become an option, otherwise they'd just end up as expensive snacks.
Heavily planted is another plus to the survival of cherries :D

Great idea to try some .19 shrimp versus about 2.00 a shrimp from here with shipping (usually 1.00 a shrimp and 10.00 shipping so if you get just 10 to start).
there better to watch than fish and they get addicting. good luck and i really hope they make it. or you can again as said just spend 25.00 at w lm rt and get a 10g setup for them. They'll be out and about more if theres no other fish.

I think its worth a try since you tank is heavily planted. I have mine with gourami, tetras, and barbs and they have multiplied to the point that I have started two more tanks of inverts only from the offspring. Moss is the best hiding spot for them.
That being said, I enjoy my inverts in invert only tanks the best because their personality because much more outgoing and they are obviously much more visible when they don'thave to hide for survival. If you decide to get some shrimp, make sure to cover your intake as the ones for sale are usually juvies and pretty small and its easy for them to get sucked into the intake (and any offspring down the line). Good luck!
