which one creates less surface agitation and is quite?? btw i like keeping my water level high and have had good experience with ac 150 on bigger tank.
this decision is for a 10 gallon moderately planted. 6 cardinals. some rams + pair of guppies.
thanks

Just about any filter would be superior to a Whisper, IMO...

sorry guys after JSchmidt's input, i going to change the poll.
AC mini
or
AC 150. i guess i can always reduce the flow on the bigger filter.

Get the 150. You'll be happy with it...;)
If your planted then a mini will be fine. That is what I have on my planted 10 gallon. I keep sponge and filter floss in the basket and turn down the output. From what I understand the impellor is the same on both models.

oh cool thanks for the info TKO. just wondering, is the size of a AC 300 impeller and same size as 150?
I believe from what I have read that the mini 150 and 200 all share the same impellor/motor, but I don't know about the 300. IF you plan on overstocking the tank (high bioload) then maybe the 150 would be better - it does offer a larger basket for filter media. I know the mini is rated for 20 gallons and they generally over rate filters, so I figure it has to be fine for a 10 gallon.
