I've been having some equipment failure issues that has left me thinking that I need to revise the filtration on most of my tanks. If for no other reason, having a good backup system would be an advantage.

Currently, most of the smaller tanks are run by powerheads attached to sponge filters and the larger tanks either have canisters and more likely Aquaclear 500s.

All of the power filters surely cost a bit to operate, so efficiency is also an issue.

I'm leaning towards a regenerative blower, but I'm open to other options.

very good idea. some of those blowers can power like 200 tanks lol..... its really easy to do. pvc pipe and screw in the out lets. i dont think i am a diyer and i think i could do it my self. power filters are great but once you get so many its a pain to clean them all.

while not going for a blower i am adding air pumps that can power multiple tanks at once.

I did a central sump with a w/d to run 4 of my tanks. I like that option if the tanks are all in the same area, since its easy to set up drip systems. QT is the only hassle with that.
