Ok so I watch my almost week old tank like a hawk. I know i have two feather dusters (worm rocks right??) but today just like five minutes ago I went to my tank to check for any algae and I got some kinda hitch hiker!! Its little like 1/4 of an inch seems to have about 7 legs is a white blueish type color and its high tailing it up the back wall of the tank.

I wish I could get a picture of it. I wonder what it is!!!

Do I just leave it there??? is nothing else in the tank. My Ammonia is up finally and my nitrites are up so I think the tank is beginning to cycle.

Its hard to say what he is from that description but i wouldnt worry. Part of the fun of getting live rock is all the different critters you can get with it, most of them are harmless and in many cases helpful, but there are a few you should worry about. I would just continue to let the tank cycle and keep an eye out for him to try to get a better look

thank you Andy! I am having so much fun with this and I think my husband thinks I had abandoned Him for these boards He always finds me reading and looking at pictures and waiting for the day that my tank looks like some of the ones on here.

This site is chalked full of information!

I have a few hitchiker links on this page that might help you sort out what you found: http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/blog.php?b=179

7 legs and climbs glass? What overall shape? Any distinctive characteristics? Eyes? Tail? Body? I'm blind on this end so describe every detail.

Paint us a picture with words.

I'm suprised an asterina was moving fast. Expect it to multiply fast as well.
