I combined two saltwater (40g and 55g) set ups into another 55 I have. This left me with some spare saltwater parts, like a 3g refugium and two tanks. I'm setting the 55g up for mbuna and I'd like to use the refugium. I've had good luck using chaetamorpha algae in saltwater refugiums and would like to try something similiar with the mbuna tank. The refugium has its own 15w fluorescent light and uses a 250GPH powerhead for water flow from the tank. The water parameters are 8.0 pH, hardness 6 dKH and a temp of 76 degrees. I had originally planned on using Anacharis, Egeria densa in the refugium, but was wondering if Riccia, Riccia fluitans might work or even be a better choice? Ideas? Suggestions? Thoughts?
Thanks

Hornwort and anacharis are really good choices. Riccia if left floating will be good as will most floating plants like duckweed and Brazilian pennywort, though they can shade plants below them.

you might look into hydrocotyle as well, mine seems to grow insanely fast.
