I have had an ivory mystery snail, a blue ramshorn, and a spixie, in my 30 gallon tank with mollies and platies for about a month-
I noticed the ivory one was just acting quieter in the last 2 weeks, and then she just sat at the bottom for days and I wondered if she was dead. (water parameters great) I also have a small angel in the tank-
anyway, I got her out a few days ago and she drew in to her shell so I put her in a pretty vase
with some java moss(I asked about this a few days ago on another thread)- It took her a few hours to come out of her shell, but for the past 24 hours she has been so "happy" and mobile! She ate a big ol piece of fish food I floated on the water - and even now she is climbing to the top to do the siphon thing-
HERES THE THING-Last evening when she came to the top to reach out her siphon, it looked as if her siphon had been snipped off to about 1/3 -maybe even 1/4 the length of what it was when I first got her- it actually looked like a healing wound- I am wondering now, if one of my curious fish nipped it off and that's why she went into hiding for so many days? She compensates by coming closer to the water's surface-really has to come clear to the top to siphon breath.
has anyone ever had this happen? she seems to be acting great, now, poor thing- but I just wondered if anyone had experienced this before. poor snaily!

IMO it's entirely possible that your angel may have gone in for a snack. I wouldn't think the mollies or platies would go for it, but something larger would.

could of been the angel, but she seem like its on a come back. keep an eye on it.

Its entirely possible your fish munched on ivory. Glad to hear she is improving. Keep up on the water quality to reduce risks of secondary infection.
