Hi everyone this is my first thread after cycling my new tank which has been running for about 8 weeks now it is a corner tank, think its about 125 litres sorry not sure how many gallons this is, i've moved all my fish from my old tank which was a 56 litre over to the new tank about 3 weeks ago they were mainly rosy tetras and silver tipped as well as a couple of cherry barbs and a algae eater, in the last week i've added a male dwarf gourami with 3 females and a pair of young pearl gouramis, i was thinking of getting some guppys in about a months time but have been told that you can't keep them with cherry barbs? also do you think putting any more fish in would over stock the tank? because if it would i'll leave it as it is, if i can put more fish in but not guppies, has anyone got any ideas on what i could put in instead? i'd be glad for any help!

Conversion: 125 L = 33 G

It would depend on th current stocking level whether you will be able to add more fishes (first), then whether they are compatible or not (second).

Some report that cherry barbs are fin-nippers, but not the extent of the tiger barbs (but still fin-nippers). Although, I haven't personally dealt with cherry barbs (although would like to but their already fully stocked).

I'm quite curious about the algae eater. What type of algae eater is it? Because generally, if they are sold as algae eaters, sometimes they turn out to be small (2-4") common plecostomus, which would grow to at least 18" (maybe 24", even)

Thanks for the conversion, i should have put the amounts that i have of each which is as follows 3 cherry barbs, 2 blue dwarf female gourami and 1 normal female dwarf gourami, 1 male dwarf gourami, 2 pearl gourami 5 rosy tetras and 5 silver tipped tetra and the algae eater, which i've looked up on the internet and some call it a sucker loach and others say its a chineese algae eater its exactly like this one only mines about 6 inchs i've had it ever since i start keeping fish about 18 months ago, didn't realise i'd put that many in the tank hope i've not over stocked it all the water paramiters are where they should be.
