first off, i would like to apologize because i am going to post this in inverts and newbies because i am not sure where i will get more answers. now for the question. i currently have a 15 gallon tank with 5 bronze cories and an african butterfly fish. the local fish store has a tank of crayfish with that label only so i am not sure what type they are. they dont have much color at all. the question is would i be able to keep a crayfish in the tank with my cories. i am not worried about him catching the butterfly fish because he stays at the top constantly. would this set up work???

the crayfish will try and get any fish for lunch...................but saying that i keep mine mine with a bunch of guppies, the only fish in my own experience they live happily with.

id be carefull if i were you the cray might attack any slow moving bottom feeders in your tank escpecialy if they get near his favorite spot lol. i know cories are fast but if you are gonna put a cray in there watch carefully for a couple days and make sure they are getting along. if the corys are getting hurt take out the cray or just isolate it somewhere.

15 gallons is also too small for most crayfish species. Generally large tanks are necessary and species only tanks are recommended.

well its up to you if you wanna try it really. theres plenty of diff outcomes. we can only tell you our guesses. I had a wild in a 5g for a bit. with shrimp, tiger barbs, and some danios. no death. I keep him well fed too tho. and then in the 10g he was again fine. my other cray that isnt wild is a blue lobster or really a crayfish from walmart. hes fine too. only eating some of my nice plants tho. but hes in the stock below and no injuries or anything to my healty fish. and the cories might be a prob at night? when the crays are usally more active. and there trying to sleep on the bottom?

good luck tho. GO inverts.
