i currently have a 15 gallon tank with 5 bronze cories and an african butterfly fish. the local fish store has a tank of crayfish with that label only so i am not sure what type they are. they dont have much color at all. the question is would i be able to keep a crayfish in the tank with my cories. i am not worried about him catching the butterfly fish because he stays at the top constantly. would this set up work??? or i could get a crab which can live a good while in freshwater but needs land (which is a hassle)

i would be worried about your cray making a snack of your cories, they are very good at catching food if they are hungary. also depending on how big it gets i would be a little concerned for your butterfly at night when it sleeps, i had a 1 inch cray get ahold of and almost kill my 3 inch at the time blood parrot. It could also go the other way when the cray molts and it's skin is soft the butterfly may kill your cray.

All crayfish and crabs are trouble for your fish. They should be kept in species only tanks, and even hen make sure they have the room to avoid territory battles.
