Hi, I'm moving in about a week. Since I'm planning on setting up a bigger tank in the new place, I only have a single Ocellaris Clown in a ten-gallon quarantine tank.

The tank has an airstone and a small power filter; otherwise it's bare-bottom.

My question is: when I move (about an hour away) how do I preserve the biological filter? Will all the good bacteria in the power filter die in that amount of time?

Thanks!

Everything should be fine as long as you keep it in tank water. It will take a lot longer than that to kill of the bacteria.

You don't even have to keep it fully immersed in water, just keep it wet. Nitrifying bacteria are amazingly resilient, and can survive for some time, just DO NOT let the surface they are attached to (sand, bio-balls, etc) dry out!
