Has anyone here heard of black diamond shrimp?? The lfs near me has some for $5.00 and i remeber hearing about someone paying 10 for them so just wonderinf if i should snatch these up while i have a chance. They will be going in my 20 lonf that has 5 zebra danios, 5 long fin golden zebran danios, 4 serpae tetras, and an irredescent shark (don't worry it is only just over an inch and is growing out until i can put it in my 55 without being eaten to grow some more to be put into my 518).

Anyone good idea to get them or not?? i definatly want to get some shrimp as i have never had them, i have had crays but they always kill my fish so i want and invert that won't kill them this time (o and no snails)

The Black Diamond Shrimp is also known as the Bee Shrimp (http://www.theshrimpfarm.com/bee_shrimp.shtml). They are great shrimp to have as long as your water parameters are suitable. They prefer softer, slightly acidic water.

Here is a picture of one of mine! Check out the link above for more info!

$7 for a RCS. Yikes!! Mine only wants 2.95 ea but every time I have been there they have been sold out. Go figure.

Go ahead and snatch them up. I have never seen any other shrimp for sale around here beside Ghost and now cherries.

That does sound like a good deal. My lfs also sells cherries for $7 and tiger shrimp for $9.

Do these Black Diamond Shrimp cross breed with CRS? I saw these (low grade) today at my LFS for 6 dollars each. I have CRS and wondering if I should mix them up and get weird mixed colors!

Humm, from what I understand a "black diamond" shrimp is a tiger shrimp that has been selectively bred to be all black, usually with orange eyes. A true black diamond is very expensive, have some on Aaquabid right now for $160,00. Now, I may be mistaken, and please correct me if I am wrong, but seems that if that is what you have then you got a mighty good deal.
