well if shipping would be 50$ so be it, thats still a better deal than most. It's not that hard to ship. Can you get me a Better deal for a 110 gallon with a stand and a wet/dry filter? you live in NYC, I'll pick it up right now.

I will take it. If the guy in NY is not serious about having it shipped, I will be there this weekend. I live in Grand Rapids michigan and am in DESPERATE need of a tank. my 55 just sprung a leak and my Full grown jack dempseys are in 10 gallon tanks right now. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... if you haven't promised it to anyone else, let me buy it. :)

Just a note, I do have a vehicle to pick it up in and 100.00 cash, set and ready to go! I have been searching for a tank desperately for the last week and just happen to stumble upon your posting. I can even be there thursday or Friday if you would prefer, I would just have to come after work. Please let me know if you still have this available. Thanks!

Bobo, I'll let you jump ahead of me in line if you drive the 55 down to me for free so I can reseal it. Otherwise, the line is back there. ------------------------>

Druu, I would consider it, but I don't have the heart to put that on someone. I don't think the 55 gallon is repairable. It was repaired once already and the new crack is in the same location. Trust me if it were repairable I would had taken the chance last week when all this happened. I am panicking. My poor babies are suffering and it is breaking my heart to leave 5, 8" jack dempseys in 10 gallon tanks. I am desperate at this point.

I am sorry, I am not trying to cut in line, I am sure you understand when there is somthing worth buying, a ton of people ask due to the fact that alot of the offers never pan out. If the other offers don't pan out, I want to make sure that I have an opportunity to purchase this tank for my BIG babies. It would put an end to a lot of my worrying. I have been searching online for a week for a larger tank in michigan that I can afford and I finally found it, I have to try.

So sorry for skipping ahead, no offense ment. Really, just trying to get them into a home again. :)

i got an offer for $150 today
is anyone willing to go higher?

Druu

Probably, but not me. I like to buy my goods for the prices that they are listed at. Bobo seems to need it most, so I'll swap spots in line with him.

Bobo, if the 55 is leaking, I'd give it a shot redoing the silicone. If a pane of glass of cracked, that can be cut out and replaced.. still cheaper than buying a new 55. Let me know.

Druu, The long pane across the back is the part that cracked. It cracked once 4 years ago on an angle across the corner. At that time, I replaced the whole small end and also resealed the corner on the back side.

It held good for 4 years but all of a sudden about 1.5 weeks ago, I woke up to a flood in my basement. Yeah it leaked so much through the new crack that it flooded my hard wood floors and into the basement. Talk about panic, I just bought this house (my 1st house) 2 months ago and now I have 55 gallons of water seeping through my living room floors.

Anyway, I tore the whole set up down (and that is not easy with 5 full gown jack dempseys) and found the new leak. Is also goes across the same corner but just below the original crack. I am fearful that if I try to reseal the new crack, that there won't be enough original strong glass left to hold it to.

My biggest fear is that it will bust (not just leak) some day when I am not home and not only will it ruin my hardwood floors, my poor babies will become lunch to my 3 cats. OHHHH the horror!!! I just can't take that chance, I would never forgive myself. I have raise those dempseys from tiny tiny fry about 4 years ago. matter of fact some of them are those fry's fry if that makes any sense. Either way, they mean A LOT to me, and I couldn't bear to know that I would be the one that killed them.

BUT thanks for the advise, it would had been worth the try if the original crack was never there.

I am thinking when my fish are definately in a new home, I will still reseal that tank. There is a guy in Grand Rapids here who put a post on craigslist that he owns an animal rescue and he has taken in more abandoned reptiles than he has aquariums for. That 55 gallon would make a nice BIG home for some homeless reptile. I will probably just call him and give it to him. Then I would feel like I am doing something good for someone in need. I don't have a lot of money to give but I try to help in little ways that I can afford.

Thanks though for the suggestions. I am always open to suggestions. :)

what a way to sell something.. He might as well have put it on ebay and saved himself the trouble.

I hate to tell you guys but he agreed to sell this to me for 150.00 after no one would give him more than 150.00. Then when it came time to give me his address so that I could come pick this up.... he bailed. Never answered my emails, just disappeared of the face of the earth.

I even tried to be nice about it and told him if he was uncomfortable selling this for so cheap (cause he told me he didn't realize that he could sell it for more) that I would be bummed but would still understand. You would think at that time he would say " yeah, sorry I want more $$ so I would rather not do this" but no his answer was "when do you want to come pick this up". When I sent him the response, he never emailed me back again.

So GOOD LUCK guys... This guy is just screwing us around. I am sure he sold it locally for more $$ and just decided to never follow back up with the rest of us.

Sorry Hirschy, I tried to be nice and understanding but your making it real hard!!!

plus he made the post (http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140236) right after posting it in classified where he wasnt sure about the low price of $100.. guess he put down the wrong price and couldnt fix it..
