I have a 29g FOWLR tank thats about 3 months old. I had just gotten some fish in there when I had an Ich outbreak (my bad for not having a q tank. I have one now). Despite my efforts I lost all in the tank. I let it run fishless for about 8 weeks adding a cube of frozen brine once a week or more to keep up the bacteria colony.
I've now got a pair of tank bred clowns, three hermit crabs, and two peppermint shrimp in the tank. There was enough algae and mircrorganisms from the tank running empty that the cleaning crew was needed.
While I plan on keeping it FOWLR for at least the next few months. I want to keep my options open for turning the tank into a Reef tank. So, I'm looking for ideas of stocking that will keep that option open. Here's the tank details.
29g
20lbs of liverock (for now, will add more)
Fluval 204 with no media
Eheim Aquaball
Two 100W heaters
2" Sand bed
Any ideas are appreciated!
