Man...I'm so mad at myself I could kick my own ---.

My BTA moved a week or two ago to a place too close to about 5 different corals. Last night I did a water change and decided to turn the rock he was on.

Well, it turns out he was actually on two rocks, and when I pulled the rock it just ripped him in 1/2.

I'm hoping it lives, but honestly I don't know.

I just can't believe I was so careless.:angryfire:

Oh man Subliminal... That totally sucks.. Did his foot tear? If his foot didn't tear he might be ok. I am glad I got my RBTA after Mr Firemouth put out that suggestion of using a small clay flower pot to put their foot into.. It has worked great for me..

Here's to wishing you the best my salty friend..

Oh it tore alright.

Oh well, it'll make leaving the tank a lot easier w/o worrying about the lil guy, but my clowns aren't going to be very happy.

Well maybe it will still heal.. You might want to run some carbon though just to pull out anything in the tank that it might have deposited or to help remove anything that might prevent it from healing. I honestly don't know if it will help but it shouldn't hurt.

Maybe you'll get lucky.. I am pulling for you to get lucky..

Ha. I'm married...I don't get lucky anymore... ;)

Seriously though, new carbon was in the tank within 2 minutes of the rip.

Still pissed off at myself, though.

;) lmao

Well good enough.. I have a needle and thread if you want to try you hand at stitching j/k

Ha. Of course I'm going to leave it alone. I don't think my bottle of coralafix is going to glue humpty-dumpty back together again. ;)

With my luck I'll end up with two of the things again.

I've seen numerous tear themselves in half. Sometimes only one survives & sometimes they both do. I had one rip itself in half over a ridgid rock and they both survived. I also know a guy who bought one from a LFS and traded in 3 because it split so often.
