He looks fat & sassy! How long is he actually? The best way to photograph your tank is with all the lights out (except the tank light, of course), shades drawn & no flash. I just got a 125g tank for my 11" fahaka today!

i was just thinking, "havent seen any pufferpunk posts lately wonder if she got the 125g she was talkin about". glad to see ya back.. [ there was a few guys on predatoryfish.net that could use your expertise, if you get over there ]
i guess the bulk of him is 6" or so, then the thinner tail section is 1-2" then the tail fin is 2" for a total of 10+"
he's also in a 125g . he lives at one end but gets fed at the other. every now and then he smacks into the plexiglass tank cover but it fits well enuff, he wont knock it into the water. i may add a strap to it just to be sure. he fights his own reflection just under the emperor filters and sometimes scrapes his nose, but it heals quickly and leaves no scar.
far as picture taking goes, i havent quite figured it out. most of my family inherited a photographer gene but i did not.
i tried to put my hand up as a reference but it spooked him a little so i tried the tape measure instead. course the tape was at an angle and the puff was at another angle, so it didnt turn out to be a great reference.
love to see filberts new tank..

I got my fahaka (Filbert) when he was only 1" & loaded with internal parasites. The lfs had him for 6 months & he looked like eyes & a tail. After treating him for a week with Discomed, he started growing & hasn't stopped. Less than 2 years later, he is now around 11". He eats clams, oysters, scallops, squid, shrimp, crayfish, earthworms, krill & crickets. It seems that there are 2 color varieties of fahakas. A gorgeous gold & marroon striped, or gold & mottled-striped blue-grey-brown. I have the latter. What color variety do you have?
