Well, I don't know how else to describe it.. I had these 2 WC's and they've been a mess to deal with (I got them from someone else). They were constantly sick and I've been waiting for weeks to transfer them to this new 7 gallon tank I got just for them (of course I want to add some other fish too). After weeks of seeing columnaris, fin rot, mouth rot, fungus, everything you could possibly imagine (well not everything, but you get the idea), I decided to give up on treating them and just move them to the bigger tank that I had been cycling for 3 weeks.

I added them and the smaller WC immediately began to regain his color. After a few days he was a rich dark purple color and his fins were really vibrant. I moved the other fish in too, even with what I thought was fin rot. His fins haven't gotten any worse and I think they're getting better. However, one thing I noticed when I put him in the tank (with a nice light) was how dam pale he was. He looked totally different from the other fish. He was a light pink color all outside his body. His fins were still a magenta purple color but his body looked terrible.

Now, after about a week in the tank, the pink WC has what appears to be a new darker layer on his back. You can see his sides are also starting to acquire this new tint. Is he just gaining his color back? Or, did he have something really wrong with his exterior before and now he's getting better? Or, did I do something wrong? lol, sorry aquariacentral. I love you for always helping though, lol. thanks.

sounds like he's getting his natural colouration back; fingers crossed.
