she is on top of the hood after about thirty minutes of going in and out of the water.if she does lay what do i need to do with the clutch?should i take it off the hood or leave it?i think if i leave it the lights will dry it up.how can i get the clutch of the hood without damaging any of the eggs?please help this will be my first batch:perv:

they will most likely dry out if you leave them there. i dont think there is any way of removing the clutch without damaging a few eggs.

use a credit card to scrape them of with that would be the best way to do it.
there is a sticky at the top of this forom with some great info on how to hatch them..good luck chuck!!!

Congrats! Most people will advise you to move the clutch off the lights so that you can control the humidity. There are LOTS of options for hatcheries. http://www.applesnail.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=29&sid=405aa74c9cbc6e05b435423bac0ac384 There is a link to the DIY section at applesnail, there are many options there. Usually if you give the clutch a mist your can remove it relatively easily.
Last question, are you prepared for the potential amount of snails? each clutch can produce 50-200 snails. Its recommended to freeze or crush any unwanted clutches.

mine laid eggs on the underside of the tank lid (the actual part that opens up) and those hatched out just fine.
