Could be trouble. I would go with either the pair of oscars or the other fish, not both.

Agreed with scott.

However, if you are planning to raise them from juveniles...well, you can select a few fish...put in there and made your decision later...which to be your favorite. The problem is that...Oscar will end up dying first if they are either smaller or same size as Cons, JD, and FM (unless you get a mean oscar. Mine was too timid). Neither do you want your Oscar to be too big that they can eat the other fish.

If I were you, I would shop around and look into the web to search what fish suit my personality first.

I don't necessarily agree that the oscar would die. They grow so fast they would out pace everyone and none of the other fish are nearly aggressive enough to kill a much larger fish.

I agree though to shop around. There are lots of different fish out there that you could substitute into your scenario that are readily available from mail order (if you don't mind those overnight shipping fees!)

You have a great sized tank which really opens up your options.

My friend has a 6" Oscar living with 1 firemouth, 1 JD, 1 Convict, 1 Ram, and a catfish in a 150gal, and he has NO problems at all, so I would say give it a try, whats the worst that could happen? you would have to bring one back

Your friend might wanna mark that ram off the list, because the oscar is eventually gonna do it for them anyway ;)

I currently have a GT, a con, two firemouths, a JD, and a pimelodus pictus in a 100 gallon, and I can tell you that eventually I will probably need to get rid of some of the fish. All of the fish are 1-2" except for the GT which is about 5" and they all squabble for territory. They all eat and are healthy for now but once some size gets put on I dont think it will stay that way. I find the firemouths comical in thier wiggling and flaring thier gill plates. The convict hides most of the time as does the JD. The GT is the 800lb gorilla of the bunch. I am thinking about removing my firemouths and putting them in a 55 gallon I have, growing them out a little and then trading them in. I would go either the oscars or the JD and something else, maybe a texas or a GT, but from what I have seen on here the jd will prolly bully the oscars later. I would go with a con instead of the firemouths as they will probably stand up the bigger fish better. just my .02
