I was writing everything I had under my tank on my site and decided it would be cool to see what everyone else had under theirs or in their fish storage area. Here is what is under my tank (http://members.tripod.com/njdevilsfan130/under_the_tank.htm).

Under each tank is a stepstool (I have deep tanks), and a 5 gallon bucket with an algae scraper, a net, and tongs inside.
Every thing else I use (siphons, meds) is communal and stored elsewhere but these items stay with their tanks.

Under the 10 is all the fish food, plus veggie clips, a pair of scissors and dechlorinator.
Under the betta tank (5 gal on an old livingroom end table) are the buckets, basin, measuring cup and other containers.
Under the 28, which is my nicest stand (a wood credenza), are stacks of towels. The stand also has 2 drawers where I keep the syphoning stuff.
Everything else (test kits, etc.) is kept in an old microwave stand that has the quarantine tank.

food, air pump, extra filter cartridges, always a teaspoon, any meds/water modifiers, turkey baster and cup under my 20 for my dwarf frogs (bloodworms shot right at their faces or I don't think they'd ever eat, or maybe I poiled them and they're just too lazy)

My canister filter and co2 bottles, along with some extra rocks and a piece of driftwood, as well as a container of "extras"(suctioncups, clips, airline, checkvalves, etc). All my other stuff is in a closet dedicated to the tanks...this is where I keep my water jugs, buckets, test kits, nets, towels, fertilizers, etc. All food is in the fridge.

We just now ordered a refridgerator rack that hangs on the side (wooden)..... This will hold the most used test kits and plant ferts.. The huge bags of filter floss and diatom powder is kept in a closet. There's too much in the aquarium stand cabinet now.

edited for link....
Iv'e got the same problem as Joe. I just have the ususal under my DIY tank stand. It's got adjustable shelves, so I keep the buckets for water change on one side (3 of them) and the food, test kits, emeregency airline & CO2 line repair stuff and test kit etc. on the other side. The overflow of junk is in a 25 gallon tub in the basement.

20 reef: powerstrip and 4 timers for the main lights, fuge and skimmer. Tank log.
25 plants/TV: dust, although the CO2 setup and ViaAqua filter are in the cabinet behind the tank.
29 Tanganyikan: my clothes; it's on my dresser
Everything else lives in the basement.
My 10 gal sits on a guncabinet...two shotguns, a .22 and a AR15...Well armed fish, don't you think?

Under my tank I actually have a large playmobile display of a tropical reef including corals, eels, seahorses, seastars, scubadivers and of course many fish. Kind of brings the aquarious theme down to my son's level so after I'm done doing my weekly cleaning he can rearrange his own creative setting. Does a pretty good job for a six year old.
Now in the wall unit next to the aquarium I have the usual pH, nitrate, nitrite, ammonia test kits. My python, filter pads, carbon, pH neutralizer. glass scrubber and various foods round off my convenient supplies. So far its worked for me. Many times it's a plus to have these things handy.

I usually have another tank under my tanks. I figure it's wasted space otherwise...:) My storage area lies in part of a closet in my bedroom, and two cabinets in the kitchen, though I do have food items on the hoods and a net strategically stuck in the pot of a terrestrial plant hovering overhead.

40 planted (puffers, UDC, bristlenose, eel, cories, kuhlis, ???): power strip, timer, spare light bulbs.
5 planted (male betta, oto, kuhli, killi fish): fish cabinent #1. Spare powerheads, filter media, food, nets, misc tools, jars, spare tank, spare substrate.
20 planted (frog tank): basket full of cat toys, kitty condo, wooden rocking horse.
10 planted (newts, blue tetras): kitchen counter--think it's above the drawer with scrapers, wooden spoons, whisks, and such.
55 (top--empty right now, just some driftwood and substrate): power strips, timers.
55 (bottom--will be brackish, has 3 whiptails and 2 bristlenose right now): about 3.75 inches dead space.
65 (reef): 50 gallon invert tank.
65(FOWLR): sump, power strips, net, jars.
Most of my fish stuff is located in the fish room. empty tanks, spare filters, water filtration, fresh water storage, freezer, spare substrate, cleaning supplies, hose, etc is all in there. We have a bakers rack and two 4-drawer storage towers, plus about half a dozen rubber maid tubs.

1 bucket with python, box with various co2 diffusers, extra airline hose and valves,2 power heads, some gravel, co2 tank with brace attached to side of stand, Plasic drawer set up containing filter media, air pump (I don't use) water conditioner, plant food, algea cleaner, meds, folder with warinties and fish/plant info and Hanging on inside right,on hook, plastic box with all test kits, hanging on left side with hooks 3 diffrent size nets and one brush. Of course a 404 fluval filter. and light strip with a cords marked(with what everything belongs to) 2 timers, (2 sets of lights and co2) I am sooooo organized! Did I miss anything?
Plant book, self start hose, (never know when the python will break, or sometimes I take fish water to plants outside. oH I have another plastic container containing extra sucktion cups, plant weights, tubing, heater holders and that kind of stuff, and my plant triming kit, long handle tweezers, sissors and rake.
And I don't think anything else could fit. I have a step stool that folds up and is stored at the side of my tank between the stand and kitchen cabinets.
Do I win for the most stuff?
I keep EVERYTHING under my tank!:p

Under my 60 G, I have an Eheim 2028 canister filter, a 5 G, and a 2.5 G tank.
Under my 65 G, I just have one 10 G tank and another Eheim 2028.
Also equally distributed under both big tanks: fish food, nets, towels, air pumps.
FYI: There is nothing under my three little tanks :)
