Hi gang ! Could I please get some feedback on Moss balls ? Pros and cons ? I've got a 46 with driftwood (Mopani), slate caves and lightly to moderately planted (my opinion. How do you tell?) I also have a 10 with a female betta and some cherry red and cobalt blue shrimp in it. I'm thinking about trying to breed zebra plecos , and that will require another tank. As you know, finding the little buggers without having to take out a 2nd mortgage is tough ! Actually, just finding them is tough ! Thanx for your help.

I have some I keep in my 75gal planted. They sit in the bottom and pearl every day. They are sloooow growers and need to be squeezed out like a sponge at every water change to help them maintain a round shape (in their natural surroundings they roll around). They can get string algae growing on them so you may need to pick at them if you have string algae in your tank. I dosed excel for awhile and after my crypts started to melt I stopped. It was about a week later I noticed some browning on the moss balls so this may have happened because of excel.
