OK, after a dead snail almost totally messed my 10 gallon nano plans ,I have decided to take my 75 g african tank and convert it to a reef tank.
The tank is 36" x21"x18",would a 400 watt 10k metal halide and 40 watt actinic be enough lighting for soft corals and maybe some lps near the top of the tank.
For filtration and water flow,I have 2-317 gph Jebao powerheads ,one of which i was going to use to run the protein skimmer and a 10 gallon tank for a refugium, also a 160gph powersweep rotating powerhead and a biowheel 350 for mechanical filtration.
I plan on 75-80 pounds of live rock and 3 inches of argonite sand with a very little crushed coral mixed in.
Thats my plan so far any info or changes any of you think I should make ,I would be very thankful for the advice

Thanks

<<Sounds great to me>>

<<Yes, that level of lighting would be fine>>

<<Flow wise, as this is to be a reef, you need about 1875GPH water circulation. So, you are quite low on the ammount of flow that you could do with having..Maybe look towards buying a couple of Hydor Koralia powerheads??>>
