This is a Caribbean puffer species, Diodon hystrix, commonly known as the porcupinefish. I'm really familiar with those guys, as I'm a staff diver at the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas here in New Orleans where we have at least 2 hystrix in our 132,000 gallon Caribbean exhibit. They indeed get quite large.
