Just putting this post on as it may help others!

I bought a Juwel Rio 400 in April last year but made my own stand for it and started stocking it (Community tropical) end of June. My approach was I could afford the capital as I had a reasonable income, but running costs need to be minimal, should I loose my job. I liked the sound of the benefits of CO2 and bought a Denearle pro system kit on ebay 2nd hand which came with a 350gm cylinder. I could bet this refilled for £8.50 + delivery + vat (total £15) which I felt exorbitant for the small amount of gas. An upgrade to 2kg size would have cost £10 refilled (£17 total) but I would need to buy the cylinder for £60.

I then put a wanted post on Freecycle and got several offers of mostly large cylinders that people had in their sheds. I found that no body was willing to refill them unless they had supplied the bottle, so I was stuck. I asked around where I work and a colleague gave me one of his that I was able to get refilled locally. It was a 14kg pub cylinder which they charged £10 cash with no delivery charge or vat, so I got my economical rate CO2 in the end. I wonder if this may last 10 years.

Just got to get it working now. I may put another post if I get stuck.
