Amendment to why do my plants look so bad !

A couple of updates on my earlier post. It seems I have 2x 65 w bulbs, not the 1 that I originally reported. Now my plants seem to have black/brown hair growing all over them. What gives and what do I do about it ? My nitrates are 10 and my ph is 6.4. What to do, what to do ? Please help !!

How long has your tank been set up? It sounds like a diatom to me not algae. Diatoms are caused by excess silicates. just clean them off and go lighter on the feedings.

Since you have over 2 wpg and no CO2... You're feeding the algae (black/brown hair).

Clean off the plants ? Tank has been up about a month.
