Quickly - what is a better 'K' value for lights on a planted tank? I only ask because it seems like some with lower 'K' values are pricier than those with higher ones, and I always thought a higher 'K' value was better...

For FW plants, 5000K to 6700K is the accepted range. Within that range, the "look" is personal preference. Outside that range can and will still work, but may or may not be optimum.
