ok so some serious snail love is being had in my tank right now! By the snail formally know as Brian (now Ermintrude) and mulitple partners! (dougall and Zebidie) my question is what happens next?? (I'm quite excited at the prospect of baby snails!)

Well, basically, the snails will leave trails of eggs in poaches all over your aquarium. They look like dried up water droplets with strawberry seeds inside. Then they will hatch, and you will have lots and lots of baby snails coming out of their eggs, eating the others before they hatch, and growing at a considerable rate. Keep in mind, snails can reproduce sexually and asexually, so you can potentially have dozens if you maintain a constant food supply, and they don't stop multiplying. Good luck with your baby snails though.

this is what will hwppen next. if sucsesfull they will start to rome above the water line then bam!!!a clutch of eggs looking like a small pink bunch of grapes. they will lay there eggs outa water so you might have to lower the water level for them. good luck

what kind of snail are we talking about?

Well, male apple snails will mount any other snail regardless of gender. If you happen to have a female, they will lay a clutch above the water line consisting of 30-200 baby snail which will hatch after about 10 days-3 weeks. Rarely can the average hobbyist house all the babies so often a portion of the clutch is broken off in order to hatch and the rest is destroyed. Its very likely you will get multiple clutches as a female can store sperm for months and may lay every 4-7 days. Good luck.
